  • Andrew Bennett

    HEAD CHEF

Born and raised in Elginburg, Ontario, Chef Andrew Bennett developed his passion for cooking at an early age on his family’s multi-generational farm. Growing up raising sheep and working alongside his family, he was introduced to cooking through community events and banquet services at the local church; these experiences laid the foundation for his culinary journey.

Andrew’s first professional kitchen role began at Swiss Chalet, followed by positions in a small local golf course kitchen and later in a fast-paced bar environment. These early experiences solidified his desire to pursue cooking as a career, leading him to enroll in culinary studies and further refine his skills.

He went on to complete a Culinary Management diploma at Niagara College, including a 500 - hour international apprenticeship in Connemara, Ireland. While working at Delphi Resort, a four-and-a-half-star property, Andrew developed a strong foundation in classical techniques and gained a deep appreciation for intuitive cooking techniques, learning to create dishes without relying on recipes.

Now based in Terrace, British Columbia, Andrew serves as head chef at Skeena Valley Golf & Country Club. He is passionate about showcasing local ingredients, embracing the surrounding landscape, and creating memorable dining experiences that reflect both his agricultural roots and global culinary influences.
